"16 And Pregnant" Creator Lauren Dolgen Defends Her Show

"I was reading an article about teen pregnancy, and it had a statistic that said 750,000 girls between 15 and 19 get pregnant every year. I felt like I got punched in the gut, because it was just staggering. I thought it was a story to tell and a world we needed to explore. ... People who say that [either show] glamorizes teen pregnancy have not actually watched the show, because these are the very real stories of these girls' lives, and it shows the good, the bad, and the ugly. Their lives are not glamorous—they have to sacrifice a lot when they're faced with an unplanned pregnancy. They change from teenagers to adults in an instant."

— MTV's Lauren Dolgen spoke with Slate about two shows she has created, "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom." I don't usually agree with the things that come out of the mouths of MTV suits, but I happen to be with her about this. Except that part about changing from teenagers to adults in an instant. I'm pretty sure Amber and Gary's toddler is more mature than both of them combined. [Slate]

Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha 'Till The World Ends' Remix Leaks

Reworked tune features an opening verse by Minaj as Ke$ha sings atop Spears' vocals throughout the song.
By James Dinh

Britney Spears isn't the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale's second single, "Till the World Ends."

The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the stars' websites.

Mixing the dance tune's original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: "A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin', but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they'd revive your career, but somebody lied/ I ain't talkin' poultry when I say this chicken's fried."

After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song's first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. "It's Britney, bitch. I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha!" the Young Money MC proclaims.

Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track's chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer's lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the "Till the World Ends" remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break.

News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted, "@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!"

Vanessa Hudgens: Liquor Store Lovely

Ready to let loose with her friends, an extension-wearing Vanessa Hudgens and a gal pal hit up a local liquor store to purchase a few bagfuls of alcohol in Studio City, California on Saturday (July 30).

Looking to be readying for a festive occasion, the liquor store stop comes after the former "High School Musical" star spent the previous day loading up on supplies at the local Party City shop.

Meanwhile, Miss Hudgens is also prepping for the launch of her official site - which will go live this coming week.

Of the new web offering, Vanessa tweeted yesterday, "Heyya! Happy Friday! A new clue from www.vanessahudgensofficial.com which launches next week! I think you?ll get excited by this one! Xx V."

David Beckham: "We Would Love One More" Child

David Beckham: "We Would Love One More" Child

Time to start speculating about what David and Victoria Beckham would name their next child. Just weeks after daughter Harper Seven's birth, her father revealed to the Associated Press that he and Victoria "would love one more." Watch the endearing interview here!

Beckham is clearly infatuated with little Harper, born on July 10, but she's not the only reason he and Victoria are eager to add to their brood. "We've always said we'd love a big family, and five was the number," said Beckham. "If we're lucky enough then, we hope to have one more."

According to David, his three kids -- Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6 -- are doing just fine adjusting to their new little sister being at home. "The boys won't leave her alone, which is amazing," Beckham happily shared. "She's a mixture of all three of the boys, actually."

Becks has had a lot of practice being a father to his rambunctious sons, but it's a whole new ball game when it comes to his new princess. "It's different having a little girl," revealed Beckham. "She's elegant...she sleeps in an elegant position. She's the cutest little thing."

Good genes definitely run in the Beckham family, but the handsome daddy adoringly credits his wife for passing on her features -- and sense of style -- to their daughter.

"She's got Victoria's nose, thankfully...she's got a better nose," said Beckham about Harper. "She's got a great wardrobe already, so my wife is definitely going to take care of that side."

If Beckham will gush this much about his wife and kids after the birth of his next child, then we're all for it!

'Smurfs' Cast Imagines Navigating NYC -- In Miniature

'I've always been fascinated by what really goes on in the subways,' Neil Patrick Harris tells MTV News of what he'd do first.
By Jocelyn Vena

"The Smurfs (In 3-D)"
Photo: Sony Pictures

"The Smurfs" are three apples high, as the legend goes, and in this week's big-screen adaptation of the beloved children's cartoon, Hollywood takes a stab at re-telling the tale for a new generation of kids.

The 3-D tale (with some CGI) is voiced by an A-list cast, including VMA-nominated Katy Perry, George Lopez and Alan Cumming, to name a few. In the movie, the Smurfs land in the Big Apple, where they end up staying with expecting newlyweds played by Neil Patrick Harris and "Glee" star Jayma Mays. Of course, they're also trying to stay as far as possible from their nemesis, Gargamel, played by Hank Azaria.

The little creatures find themselves in some silly situations as they try to navigate the big city. When MTV News caught up with Harris, Mays and Azaria in New York, we asked what they would do if they suddenly found themselves having to survive the city in Smurf-sized bodies.'

"I've always been fascinated by what really goes on in the subways," Harris said.

His onscreen lady love, Mays, agreed, "That's a good one," before warning him, "but then the rats would be bigger than you. So that'd be a little scary."

"Maybe I'd sneak into really fun buildings," Mays added. "I would get into clubs that won't let me in now."

Harris later quipped of a popular Broadway show, "You could sneak into the 'Book of Mormon.' That's a hard ticket to get right now."

The actor who plays the movie's bumbling bad guy had a less glitzy answer. "If I were three apples high and I lived in New York, I would sneak into the Mets game. That's what I'd do," Azaria said. "And I'm blue, so they'd probably just mistake me for some kind of mascot. I'd wear orange to go with it. You see Gutsy's beard there? It's orange; that's Mets colors right there. I'm sure Gutsy is a Mets fan."

Britney Spears, Taking Back Sunday Video Worlds Collide Thanks To Director

Chris Marrs Piliero explains why the cat in 'Faith (When I Let You Down)' comes across an Easter egg from 'I Wanna Go.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: Warner Bros.

Taking Back Sunday's video for "Faith (When I Let You Down)" is a social commentary about the fleeting nature of Internet fame, as illustrated by a fake cat trying to make it in Hollywood. It also happens to be the latest installment in the kooky videography of music video auteur Chris Marrs Piliero.

"It was an idea that I had floating around in my head, and when I listened to the song ... the meaning of the song clicked in my brain," the director said of the clip, which follows his cheeky video for Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go."

"People just love cat videos," he explained. "And I just thought it would be fun to see what it would like if a cat had the brain to be like, 'Sh--, I'm a big deal.' "

In the video, Taking Back Sunday post a clip of their cat online, and soon "OMG, WTF TBS Cat" goes viral. The cat eventually hops on a bus to L.A. (with a quick nod to Guns N' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"), finds fame, disses the TBS guys, fails to make it as an actor, winds up in porn and eventually can't handle the pressure. Then, of course, TBS Cat heads back home.

Was that cat as difficult in real life as he was in the video?

"I was like halfway into the shoot, and he was throwing out demands," Piliero recalled, laughing. "It got to the point where no one was allowed to make eye contact with him on set. I had to sit him down and have a heart to heart with him."

Along with the GNR homage and a few other pop-culture references, the video includes a cute Easter egg for Britney fans: One of TBS cat's discarded audition scripts is for the fantasy Spears sequel, "Crossroads 2: Cross Harder," which is also on the marquee in "I Wanna Go."

"I made the TBS video right after the Britney video," he said. "I felt like the cat could exist in the same world as the 'I Wanna Go' world, so I thought it would be a fun little Easter egg. Also, [frontman] Adam [Lazzara] from TBS texted me after watching the Britney video, and I didn't even realize that during the paparazzi fight when she swings the mic around — that is something that Adam does all the time, which is something I was very conscious of — but I didn't realize the scene happened in front of a store called Keaton's, and his son is called Keaton!"

Nicky Hilton: Back on the Market

She?s been dating David Katzenberg for the past four years, but now Nicky Hilton is once again a free agent in the dating game.

According to a source, the beautiful businesswoman has chosen to focus on her career rather than pursuing the relationship any farther.

"They broke up quietly after four years together. The main reason was that they have been busy with their work schedules, and it has made it difficult to spend time together."

"Nicky has been back and forth traveling overseas a lot with her business. She has recently been in Asia promoting her jewelry line, and David is starting a new production company. Their schedules never seemed to match."

Meanwhile, Hilton has been spending time with her sister Paris, and they have a trip planned. Nicky explained, "Paris has a house in Malibu, so I've just been spending time relaxing there. Paris and I are going to go to the South of France next week for some business and pleasure."

Amy Winehouse Died from Alcohol Withdrawal?

Amy Winehouse Died from Alcohol Withdrawal?

Family and friends said their last goodbyes to Amy Winehouse on Tuesday with a funeral service in London, but the question of what caused the "Rehab" singer's death still lingers. While the toxicology results are not expected back for a few weeks, Britain's Sun newspaper reports that Winehouse's family strongly believes the 27-year-old died from sudden withdrawal from alcohol.

Following a recent one-week rehab stint, Winehouse -- who had battled drug and alcohol addiction for years (Amy's father Mitch Winehouse says she kicked the drug habit three years ago) -- was advised by her doctor to gradually ween herself off of heavy drinking, noting that a sudden withdrawal for such a serious addict could have major consequences. Winehouse ignored the doctors advice and went cold turkey.

According to her family, Winehouse had been sober for three weeks preceding her death, a fact Mitch spoke about at Amy's funeral. "He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid bingeing at all costs," a source close to the family tells the Sun. "Amy told him she couldn't do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely."

Adds the source: "Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death."

Reports have claimed that the Grammy Award-winning singer had fallen off the wagon only three days before her July 23 death, when she was allegedly seen drinking gin and Red Bull at the iTunes festival at the Roundhouse in Camden, North London.

In his eulogy at Amy's funeral, Mitch Winehouse denied the rumors that his daughter had been on a bender before her death. "He wanted everyone to know that he, her boyfriend and her manager believed it was actually the complete opposite," says the same insider. "Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take."

Whether alcohol withdrawal is the culprit in Winehouse's case remains to be seen, but it is certainly a possibility. Doctor Carol Cooper tells the Sun that the sudden shock of withdrawal could have led to a seizure so violent that it caused her death. "The heaviest drinkers have a particularly severe form of alcohol withdrawal called delirium tremens, or DTs," says Cooper. "They may fall into a stupor and sleep it off, or lapse into a coma -- or have dangerous seizures."

Beware "The Ides Of March"? No Way. It's My New Favorite Day.

Official

Umm, hello. We are far too obsessed with the official poster for "The Ides of March," the upcoming flick that stars George Clooney as a a presidential candidate whose campaign is derailed when one of his aides, Ryan Gosling, becomes caught up in a nasty scandal. Clooney apparently wrote the movie years ago, but shelved it throughout Barack Obama's campaign because he felt the country was too hopeful "for a cynical political movie." But now he feels the timing is just right. "Republicans hate the beginning of the movie, Democrats hate the end," he said. And thanks to the flicks' two lead men, straight women love it all the way through just because of the eye candy. Check out the trailer, after the jump! [NY Daily News]

Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix

New track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.
By Jocelyn Vena

The "Till the World Ends" Femme Fatale remix
Photo: Jive

Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."

The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."

Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.

Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.

Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"

Spears and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour. They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."
